Pipe Frenzy is an adaptation of the classic game Pipe Mania, where the goal is to quickly place pipes on a game board to form a pathway for running water.

If you are a fan of games where the combination of strategic thinking, speed, and a fair amount of stress are vital compontents, Pipe Frenzy should be just the game for you!

Pipe Frenzy is distributed as an archive (with the extension .zip), and you must first use a tool such as Winzip (see http://www.winzip.com) to unzip the package.

Game requirements: Palm OS 3.5+.

PipeFrenzy.html is the file you are currently reading.
PipeFrenzy.gif is a small animation showing a couple of screen dumps from the game.

To install the game, you need to double click on the appropriate prc file:
PipeFrenzy_Hires_OS5sound.prc: For high resolution OS5.0 Palm devices, such as the Tungsten C or Tungsten T.
PipeFrenzy_Hires_Sonysound.prc: For high resolution Sony Clie device.
PipeFrenzy_Lores.prc: For low resolution Palm devices.
PipeFrenzy_Lores_2color.prc: For low resolution Palm monochrome and/or grayscale devices.

Pipe Frenzy in unregistered mode has exactly the same functionality as Pipe Frenzy in unregistered mode apart from two things: each game is restricted to a maximum of 2 minutes, and the expert skill level is not available.

Once you've registered, you are entitled to free updates and bugfixes of Pipe Frenzy from the NewBornGames website whenever it becomes available. The license and the registration code you've bought will be valid for all future versions of Pipe Frenzy.

To learn the basics on how to play Pipe Frenzy, read the in-game instructions. However, below are a number of tips and tricks once you learned how to handle basic gameplay. These tips are not included in the in-game instructions due to limited space. If you are determined to find out all the Pipe Frenzy playing secrets for yourself without any outside help, reading the text below may spoil a little bit of your fun, so beware!

• Make sure you've learnt to master the Easy level before you continue to the Advanced and Expert level. Your gameplay will have to be intuitive and almost automatic to handle the reaction skills needed.
• Don't be afraid to often smash pipes that have already been placed. In fact, it is absolutely necessary to do so to develop a succesful playing style.
• One of the keys to acquiring high scores (especially when playing the Easy level) is to create a lot of water crosses. Try to place cross pipes in rows and/or columns, as close to each other as possible. You will most likely need to smash and/or scatter a lot of other pipes to get full rows/columns of pipe crosses. Meanwhile, connect the crosses with curved pipes.
• If you need to get ahold of a certain type of pipe really quick, you can scatter pipes on the empty squares surrounding the square where you want to put your pipe. Doing this is a lot quicker than smashing pipes sequentially because there is no delay between preview pipe updates.
• If possible, try to surround blockers with crosses. In the ideal situation, this will make it possible to lead water through the smashed blocker twice, which yields a lot of bonus points.
• Extra water flows resulting from a split in a split pipe are useful for a number of things. First of all, they are sometimes abolutely necessary in levels where there are several end pipes that must be reached to advance to the next level. Secondly, you can use extra water flows to reach into "holes" between blockers to surround them without going into a dead end with all the flows. You can also use water flows as "dummies", with no other purpose than keeping as many flows as possible running at the same time. Remember that all points you score are multiplied by the number of active water flows.
