Converting MP3 Melodies to WAV format
(first read "Installing WAV Anthem to Your Memory Card" Reference)

In addition to the samples in WAV (e.g. WAVE) format, which you may download from the support website, you may use your own favorite MP3 music files as team anthems in 3V Broomsticks. This reference explains the technology of converting MP3 samples to the WAV sound format, supported by 3V Broomsticks.

You may use also 100s of ready MP3 short melodies. See Tip #2 below for more info.

Step by Step:

1. Download and install the free utility MP32WAV.exe to your PC. This is a third-party free software by rJPa Industries. It supports all versions of MS Windows. You may also use other music editors to do that.

2. Use it to convert your MP3s to WAV files. For more info refer to the application Help. It is very simple to use MP32WAV Pro.

3. Because the typical duration of a MP3 song is too long for direct use in 3V Broomsticks, you must cut the main theme from the song. The easiest way to do that is to use the free utility Sound Recorder, included in MS Windows (Start Menu | Programs | Accessories | Entertainment).

4. Install your ready WAV file to the memory card of your Palm OS device.

Tips:

1. 3V Broomsticks will cut the duration of the WAV anthems to 45 sec. if they are longer. If you want to change this setting start 3V Broomsticks and go into Options | Melodies | WAV. Tap the Menu Silk-Button of your Palm. It is hard painted on the left of the Graffiti Area or your have a Menu button if your PDA has a keyboard. Choose "Select WAV Duration" option from the drop-down menu. You will most probably never use this feature.

2. You may also download 100s of free MP3 melodies, used as polyphonic ring-tones for mobile phones. We have collected some useful links at www.pda3dware.com/wav.htm. The best of all you will not have to cut the duration of these MP3s (Step 3 above), because the typical ring-tone duration is no more than 45 sec.
