The Record Count is the number of unique chords contained in the current database. This count does not include the varations of each chord.

The Chord List is all the unique chords in the database. Tapping a chords name in the Chord List draws the fingering of the chord on the Fret Board to the left of the Chord List. If the selected item starts with "Note" then the frets on the fret board that sound that note are displayed. The Chord List is broken up into 24 sections which are shown in order in the Jump List.

The Jump List shows the 24 sections of the Chord List. Tapping on an item in the Jump List moves the ChordList to the begining of that section as shown below.

If you have the MathLib.prc installed pressing the play button will play the currently displayed chord. If a note is selected and it is a open string note i.e. E, A, D, G, B, e, then the note is played at the open pitch so that it may be used for tuning.

The Sound Voulume is how loud the Chord will be played.

The Sound Length is how long each note of the chord is played. This number is in thousands of a second meaning that 250 is .25 seconds per note.

The Chord Variation Push Buttons let you see up to 7 different ways to play the chord that is currently selected in the Chord List. Currently there are from 3-4 variations for each Chord. If the Selected variation is empty then "variation isn't in database" is displayed on the fret board as shown below.

The Fret Board on the left hand side of the screen is where the chords or notes are displayed. If a note is being diplayed or the fingering of a chord isn't known then black dots indicate where each note is or the formation of the chord. When a chord whos fingering is known is displayed, dots with numbers in them shows the fingering of the chord. 1 means index finger, 2 means middle finger, 3 means ring finger, 4 means pinky finger, and T means thumb. An x in the dot means that string is not played. No dot on a string means it is played open.

This changes how the hard scroll button acts. If by pages is selected each press of the button will move the Chord List by a page in the direction pressed. If by chords is selected each press will move the Chord List by one chord in the direction pressed.

The Search Progress indicates the percent of the database that has been searched. When the Progress reaches 100 the search has been completed and the Search Results List will be filled in.

The Search Results are all chords that match the entered TAB. Tapping on a chords name in the Results List will open the Variation of that Chord which matched the TAB search in the Chord Display. As shown Below.

Enter the TAB to search for in these blanks. E is the 6th string, A is the 5th string, D is the 4th string, G is the 3rd string, B is the 2nd string, e is the 1st string. Enter an 'x' for a string that is not played, enter a '?' for unknown or wild card. All blanks must be filled before you can search.

While in any program tapping the palms find button on the silk screen will open the text search dialog box. If you enter part of the name of a chord(any part) and tap the ok button it will display the results of your search for all programs that support the find function which includes ChordDB. Tapping on a item in the list in most cases will take you to that item in the program. If its a item for ChordDB the tapped chord will be displayed. As shown below.
