How To Play
The object is to get the highest score for each row/column (also called a hand), without busting (going over 21 points for a hand), before the time runs out for the round.

The Level will determine how much time each round has, and whether the hand points are totaled for you. Levels 1 and 2 have 60 second rounds. Levels 3 and 4 have 45 second rounds. Level 1 and 3 the hands are totaled. Level 2 and 4 the hands are not totaled. Ultimate Level has 45 second rounds and the hands are totaled. The Practice round is not timed, and the hands are totaled.

The game starts when you place the first card in a spot on the board.

A round ends when either the time runs out, or you press the "Done" button.

If you bust a hand (go over 21 points), you get 0 points for that hand. If, after bonuses and penalties, your round score is negative, then you will score zero for that round.

If Level is 1-4 or Practice, the game consists of 3 rounds.

If in Ultimate Level, the game continues until you either bust a hand in a round, or do not get at least 170 base points in a round.

Aces are automagically set to 1 or 11 depending on how that would affect the row.

Skip button skips the top card on the draw pile (this can only be done once per round).

Done button ends the round (to collect points before the timer reaches 0).

Pause button pauses the game, and covers the board. To resume, press the Play button.

Scoring: You can receive various bonuses in a round:

  • Natural BlackJack Bonus:
A natural blackjack is one that is only two cards (ace + ten/face card). 100 points each.

  • 21 Point Row Bonus:
Any row that totals 21 points and is not a natural BlackJack. 50 points each.

  • All Hands 21 Pts Bonus:
If all hands are each 21 points (natural/non-natural), then there is an extra 1000 point bonus.

  • All Spots Filled Bonus:
If all spots on the board are filled, and no hand is busted, then there is a 500 point bonus.

  • Time Left Bonus:
5 points for each second left in the round (by hitting the done button).

  • Busted Hands Penalty:
There is a 100 point penalty for each hand that is over 21 points.
High-Resolution Enhancements
This program is enhanced to take advantage of the high-resolution screens on the HandEra 330, Sony Clié running Palm OS 4.x, and Palm OS 5.x devices. Enhancements generally are better graphics and use of extra screen space when the silkscreen is minimized (currently only on the HandEra 330).

Jog Dial/Wheel Enhancements:
This program has also been enhanced to take advantage of the Jog Dials and Wheels on various devices.

In the Statistics screen, you can use the Jog Dial up/down to toggle between Best Scores, Game Stats, and Round Stats. Pressing the Jog Dial in will return you to the playing screen.

You can also use the Jog Dial up/down in any of the on-line help screens. Pressing the Jog Dial will exit the help system.
