Boa Constrictor is a great arcade game, which is based upon the good old SnakePit, and adds a host of new features and tricks. Several dozen of labyrinth rooms are available in full version, as well as different skill levels and playing modes.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

"Boa Constrictor" is compatible with COLOR devices working under Palm OS 3.5 or above: Palm IIIc, Palm m505, Visor Prism, Sony PEG N700C, Sony PEG N710C.

INTRODUCTION

Boa's goal is to gobble everything eatable in the maze, trying not to run into dangerous walls and snakes. When the meal is over and nothing left to eat, a portal to the next level is opened. Every time Boa eats one food item, it grows by one segment. If you feel it has become too long and unwieldy, try to bite off the last segment of its tail.

DOWNLOADING

To download "Boa Constrictor", use the ordinary Palm DeskTop HotSync process or equivalent to install Boa.prc on your device.

PLAYING THE GAME

There are three modes of game: Snake Maze - just eat everything you see. Boa can run into walls with no harm and no snakes will come into your way. Running into itself will take away the life - don't do it except when biting off the very last segment of the tail. Snake Pit - the most classic version of the game. Food items appear one by one, and all the walls would kill the boa when it runs into it. If it collides with itself, the tail will come off and turn into a snake that will eat your meals and get in your way. Snake Split. There are both safe and deadly (painted red) walls, no new food appears after the level starts. New snakes can appear after breaking off your tail, and some of them are already there from the beginning.

There are four skill levels: Novice, Expert, Master and Free Pick. In Novice, Expert and Master skill levels you start from level 0. These skill levels differ one from another by the number of food you have to eat in order to complete a level. If you play on Free Pick skill level - you can choose a single level you want to play. There are 33 levels available. Note that level that has number 33 is special and available only in Free Pick Mode. In that level there is no labyrinth, but all free space is filled with the food.

You can pause the game pressing the "Pause" key. In order to continue playing just press one of "directional" keys.

Score calculation
You get 10 points for every food snake eats.

Food advance
With every level completed - the quantity of food you have to eat in order to finish the level grows by certain number that depends upon the game's difficulty level.

Bonus
If you bite of the very last segment of the tail - you get 500 bonus points.

Splash screen

Splash screen shows the registration status of the game. Tap on the screen to play. The splash- screen will automatically disappear after 3 seconds.

You can call Menu right from the game, clicking the button Menu on your device.

Window "Pick Game"

You can choose the type of the game you want to play window "Pick Game". To change the option's value, just tap on the the appropriate option's name.

Window "Options"

You can set up your preferences in the window "OPTIONS". To change the option's value, just tap on the the appropriate option's name

SNAKE MAZE, SNAKE PIT, SNAKE SPLIT - here you can change type of the game.
NOVICE, EXPERT, MASTER, FREE PICK - here you can change the game level (Novice, Expert, Master and Free Pick). On the game level Free Pick you can choose which level to play (*)
DEFINE KEYS - here you can setup the buttons for different game actions so you can play comfortably.
SOUND - here you can choose either to hear sound or not. The volume of the sound depends on volume of the GAME SOUND in system preferences.
AUTORUN - the option that allows you to start the game without the splash screen (after the program launching you go directly to the playing field) (*)

Window "TOP 10"

You can look at best game results in this window.

SNAKE MAZE/SNAKE PIT/SNAKE SPLIT - this button displays the best results for different games
CLEAR - this button allows to clear the high scores table
PUBLISH - this button opens the window with the code for publishing the best result on the Web

Window "PUBLISH"

Shows the information needed to publish the best result in the chosen level on the Web. Attention! Please be careful when filling the code in the publish form at our site.

REGISTRATION

Window "BUY ME"

It contains the information about where and how you can register the game. This window appears also as the reminder in the course of the game, with growing frequency.

Window "REGISTER"

Enter your license information into the form: fill First and Last names into the first and second lines, respectively, and the license code into the last one. Two NAME fields has room for 12 characters each, including spaces; if your first or last name, is longer just stop when game stops accepting the letters, the registration code will still work. In order to enter the information, you have to use either a standart virtual keyboard or you can use the Graffiti area.
