upIRC™ (formerly apIRC) is a fully RFC-compliant client for Internet Relay Chat (IRC) servers, and has the following features:

  • Built-in ident server
  • Native support of FontHack-compatible fonts
  • Audible and visual activity indicators
  • Channel management dialog boxes
  • CTCP support
  • DCC chat support
  • Supports up to 10 channels and 20 query windows
  • Auto-completion of common commands
  • Logging of display text to DOC database or VFS memory card
  • Server and channel shortcut lists
  • One-tap shortcut for nickname entry (see the Chatting page)
  • Command shortcuts with variables
  • Perform-on-connect command list

The shareware version has the following restrictions:

  • Limited to 2 channels
  • Logging capability is disabled
  • Server/channel/command shortcut databases limited to 3 entries each
  • Network-specific command completion is disabled
