可能还有朋友记得去年曾经披露出来的有人说Pre后台向PALM上传用户使用统计数据的事情.

这个是系统收集用户下载流量等数据,然后定时在后台上传给PALM...

Analytics
At its most basic level, Metrix is an analytics suite for your webOS applications. In reality it is much more than that. In addition to letting you know how many times your app has been downloaded, or how often it is actually used by those who purchased it, you can create your own metrics and learn how many times a song has been downloaded, a script has been run, or how many times a player has beaten level five. It is completely up to you how metrix will help you take control of your app. Did you say you want some charts? Follow me!

Bulletins
Let's say you have an important announcement to make...maybe you have a sale going on with your other apps, or you have a huge update coming and you want to show your users the change log. Remote Debugging
So...you have a really nasty bug. You are getting emails from some users about it, but you have not been able to reproduce it. Sound familiar? Don't worry. It happens to all of us. If you have Metrix, though, it doesn't have to be a big deal. You can contact one of the users and quickly setup remote debugging which will allow you to see exactly what is happening on that user's device. Poof! Mystery solved. Show me more!

有人很不喜欢被Palm拿到自己的使用记录数据.
那么可以用这个补丁把系统的后台上传功能关掉..

可以用webOS Quickinstall来安装这个补丁

Prevent Metrix Log Uploads

Recently, the webOS blog, webOSroundup premiered a developer framework called Metrix, that allows a number of features. One such feature logs details about your device (including device id) and uploads the logs to the Metrix server.

Aside from being a privacy issue, it could lead to developers discovering people using warez.

So here's a basic patch that will prevent the logs from being uploaded, based off greystoke's method.

这个拦截后系统自用的流量应该会小一些.尤其是对于重度用户来说

应该是..主要是这个进程里同时可能还做了其他的事情.所以直接停掉不一定合适.

目前这里用的方法就是把那个收集信息的服务器在hosts里指向127.0.0.1

我用meta-doctor做了rom直接把它关闭了。。。

我个人认为是同一个功能。如果自己定制rom的时候已经关掉的话不妨在手机上检查一下hosts定义文件。
