The DTA is not synchronization software. It is an export tool. After your your data is moved, you will set up a sync relationship between your phone and Google, Microsoft Exchange, Facebook, or your Palm profile account.

Sync your old device one last time

You may be asked to choose Palm Desktop or Outlook

C9 |; A0 u/ B m; b) W2 qIf the DTA finds a valid version of both Palm Desktop and Outlook on your computer, you'll be able to select the one you want to export data from. You can only export data from one source at a time, but you can run the DTA again and pick the other one. Do not run the DTA on the first set of data again, or you may duplicate records on your phone.1 e: o6 n- P8 Z% ~7 u

CAUTION If you decide to cancel the transfer, do it before you complete the next step. Open the application menu, tap Cancel Import, and then tap Delete Transferred Data.

' k! `& g1 h7 @Your phone processes the data you transferred. It uses the Palm Synergy feature to bring your calendars, contacts and other information together, making it easier to find what you need.

Tap the circular icon on the lower-right of the screen to see a notification describing the progress of the data import. When it's finished, Data Transfer Complete appears at the bottom of the screen.

IMPORTANT The data processing happens application by application and can take anywhere from a few minutes to one hour. Give your phone time to complete this step.

NOTE If you encounter problems while running the DTA, wait an hour or more before running it again. If you do run the DTA again to transfer the same set of data, you are very likely to get duplicates. For suggestions on how to manage duplicate contacts, see I have duplicate contacts.
