How to update iPhone 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 Unlocked (9 simple steps for Mac & PC)

Notes & Warnings
-Idon't know why but almost all the other guides I've seen on the nethave you restoring all the way down to 1.0.2. That's unnecessary.
2 w6 o5 U5 O$ o% R; B# ^1 x-Though I haven't tried it, the same procedure will also work for 1.0.2 phones. You may need to revirginise first.
-Look here for 1.0.2 revirginizing.
-Thiswill not work on OOTB iPhones with the new 4.6 bootloader. (OOTB at themoment are 1.1.2s. Rumour has it that some new 1.1.1s are coming withthe new bootloader too.)
% n4 x. p5 H% n6 a0 a-Don't be afraid to try. Even if you misseda step, you'll just have to start over. There's almost no chance ofbricking the iPhone.

- 1. Do this at your own risk.
- x  F) t$ K: R! P- 2. For those still on 1.0.2. If your iPhone has been unlocked previously with AnySIM 1.0, it must be virginised first.
- 3. Do not run AnySIM 1.2.1u in 1.1.2.

Requirements
My starting point was a virginised, activated, jailbroken, unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone. (which most of us have)
- Q7 M) t! H7 ^) E, O' LYou'll also need a WiFi connection for the iPhone.

( ]0 }7 H# c- N4 L# `Software required (Mac)
. U9 |8 R* K8 |! C! _- iTunes 7.4.2 (for iPhone Restore & Update)
) ~3 p) f4 k- R9 a9 P$ g-iNdependence 1.2.5 (PC users will need iPhuc or iBrckr instead ofiNdependence, they are only used to kick the iPhone out of DFU mode)
! c% k9 W( t" r7 B- If you're using iTunes 7.5, you'll need iNdependence_v1.3_beta2 & MobileDevice_7_4_2.framework.zip

- pntedit Download pntedit_build_3.zip

Steps *Please note distinction between Restore & Update.
. u9 n" ]7 m/ s  L: `1. Restore* to 1.1.2 using iTunes
  n* M2 e: F* \3 ~8 B5 ]Putyour iPhone into recovery mode. (Hold Power & Home buttons. Whenscreen goes black, release Power only. While still holding Home, plugin the cable.)
Click Restore.
This will give us 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13_G

2. Restore* down to 1.1.1 using iTunes
Put your iPhone into recovery mode (see above) & connect to computer, option-click Restore
Select the iPhone 1.1.1 ipsw file.
0 C, X( l) ]7 y6 U; J  PIt will end with a 1015 error. That's OK.
Quit itunes and open iNdependence. iNdependence will kick the iPhone out of recovery mode.
1 S2 V& X, R/ T! |) aPC users, use iBrickr
or iPhuc and issue the following commands:
cmd setenv auto-boot true
! I0 z+ x/ e- s' L- P& i/ ]cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot
* c' b0 X, t3 s- B8 w) [This will give us 1.1.1 and retain baseband 04.02.13_G
( K# U1 Z: q" E! \0 R
6 |8 K0 @5 M! u- O. f3. Activate & Jailbreak 1.1.1 using jailbreakme.com
! }/ \( a1 f* SInstructions from http://jailbreakme.com/safari.html
This will also install Installer for you.

4. Install BSDSubsystem & OpenSSH
% }- O6 [# n" \, p+ {Use Installer to install the above 2.

7 y$ n+ d$ O) w% Q5. Unlock 1.1.1 using AnySIM 1.2.1u
Set Auto-Lock to Never.
Use FuGu or WinSCP to copy AnySIM 1.2.1u to /Applications on the iPhone.
Run AnySIM to unlock the iPhone.

6 [: ]  j  f6 z6 }6. Install & run Oktoprep on 1.1.1
Use Installer to install Oktoprep and then run it. It's in Tweaks (1.1.1)

2 b/ w  p2 x8 C0 N7. Update* to 1.1.2 using iTunes
Connect iPhone to iTunes and do an update. (NOT RESTORE)
This will give us 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13_G.
5 \% ]" k7 E7 y3 n, L2 Z9 SPhone will still be unlocked but it's jailed & not activated.

0 r$ v! l; g/ [1 j+ e, ]6 `& }$ E2 O8. Activate & Jailbreak using 1.1.2 Jailbreak (the .JAR file)
PC users will need Java Runtime.
+ U; x2 V, w' B4 Q0 ZRun the 1.1.2 Jailbreak on your Mac/PC
On completion it'll reboot twice.
1 M4 v" Y/ U, c# |This will give us activated, jailbroken, unlocked 1.1.2 with baseband 04.02.13_G. (ie the latest & the greatest)

9. Fix dialer/SMS crash with pntedit for AppSupport
5 L7 |3 j7 \9 l4 E9 xBasically you'll need to patch AppSupport with pntedit with the correct values for your country.

UseInstaller.app to install iWorld. It's in Tweaks (1.1.2) It fixes thecrashes and uses French rules for callerid matching. (untested bymyself)

! E5 B! E3 D) E& }This will fix the iPhone crashing when you try to dial using the keypad.
8 L) W: Y3 w, @. A" `9 d& I# ACalling from an Address Book entry is OK.
