How to update iPhone 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 Unlocked (9 simple steps for Mac & PC)

-Idon't know why but almost all the other guides I've seen on the nethave you restoring all the way down to 1.0.2. That's unnecessary.6 l& P; t3 b8 [1 [' A
-Though I haven't tried it, the same procedure will also work for 1.0.2 phones. You may need to revirginise first., M- h* H- D& a# n! w
-Look here for 1.0.2 revirginizing.
* f' Q0 V0 `# V-Thiswill not work on OOTB iPhones with the new 4.6 bootloader. (OOTB at themoment are 1.1.2s. Rumour has it that some new 1.1.1s are coming withthe new bootloader too.)6 C+ n, p2 |) S& R1 w
-Don't be afraid to try. Even if you misseda step, you'll just have to start over. There's almost no chance ofbricking the iPhone., ?. p0 j, K* u% Q
-Having said that, here are 3 warnings:6 A: l. r" j& B% H- d. k- a
- 1. Do this at your own risk.
$ {# R- W( o2 S1 S0 J' R- 2. For those still on 1.0.2. If your iPhone has been unlocked previously with AnySIM 1.0, it must be virginised first.

Requirements
6 V! Z4 ?" x. n6 mMy starting point was a virginised, activated, jailbroken, unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone. (which most of us have)$ N. W! f$ f, u  k
You'll also need a WiFi connection for the iPhone." h' Z' B7 L. f  B- h6 V

8 ^+ `8 I% k- ?+ l# S* \1 F$ K- iTunes 7.4.2 (for iPhone Restore & Update)
  a9 d' B* g8 A9 d-iNdependence 1.2.5 (PC users will need iPhuc or iBrckr instead ofiNdependence, they are only used to kick the iPhone out of DFU mode)& }* @; e0 Q( J# k/ o& T
- If you're using iTunes 7.5, you'll need iNdependence_v1.3_beta2 & MobileDevice_7_4_2.framework.zip% B+ k/ Y2 C6 d2 _; C

1. Restore* to 1.1.2 using iTunes- J* {, X( K/ F
Putyour iPhone into recovery mode. (Hold Power & Home buttons. Whenscreen goes black, release Power only. While still holding Home, plugin the cable.); Q" g. ]: z3 }
Click Restore.5 K# S: T9 [: g1 A& T6 I8 W
This will give us 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13_G
) |/ h& O; Z  ^& J" f6 t4 z& f8 x. ^, T
2. Restore* down to 1.1.1 using iTunes
6 o" @9 r( j% B+ |) R% ~" @1 GPut your iPhone into recovery mode (see above) & connect to computer, option-click Restore: @0 c. |% S7 B8 }+ M0 y
Select the iPhone 1.1.1 ipsw file.
/ q, V2 h; v( b1 QIt will end with a 1015 error. That's OK.
; `. ]0 H2 ?, S) w7 U# N/ GQuit itunes and open iNdependence. iNdependence will kick the iPhone out of recovery mode.
5 l- k) ]( Z  }  s& EPC users, use iBrickr 0 x, k+ n8 F9 e. r) K& G0 O) m
or iPhuc and issue the following commands:
- l! e5 N# j& e" I2 }cmd setenv auto-boot true
. E* J  ?" Y: l. w4 V2 u5 q6 Lcmd saveenv" }9 C5 m8 B/ `! d  h  M- O+ h4 v
cmd fsboot
This will give us 1.1.1 and retain baseband 04.02.13_G0 q) n! {# ], x* a; Y: N
- Y( N- S- Y0 B6 G) \7 c
3. Activate & Jailbreak 1.1.1 using jailbreakme.com
2 Z+ v! }$ ?' a( L2 p2 qInstructions from http://jailbreakme.com/safari.html+ Q& v. H$ f0 G6 `) x% q" G
This will also install Installer for you./ t2 P# b: F1 k0 c* o

* W& w) `# j2 b' K# c! l$ ?7 D4. Install BSDSubsystem & OpenSSH9 S' T5 `9 }' m' T- b0 k3 h0 |# w
Use Installer to install the above 2.
1 M/ [$ w/ V% R1 C/ p' ]2 m% Y% u4 C4 l
5. Unlock 1.1.1 using AnySIM 1.2.1u2 C! y# {6 [2 k. Q3 W
Set Auto-Lock to Never., G5 s: P. R, D# f5 ]3 a
Use FuGu or WinSCP to copy AnySIM 1.2.1u to /Applications on the iPhone.
' d9 ^7 C" g: Q7 wRun AnySIM to unlock the iPhone.
* _' x. f) [/ r8 E# a% q% F- Y) m5 S; r) ^4 ^' X8 N& h. z
6. Install & run Oktoprep on 1.1.1
& T6 q: \7 s" tUse Installer to install Oktoprep and then run it. It's in Tweaks (1.1.1)

; J. O  |# ~/ a. O7. Update* to 1.1.2 using iTunes
+ u/ X7 z$ ]7 x" h" J5 bConnect iPhone to iTunes and do an update. (NOT RESTORE)
6 |, P. v8 Q6 d0 AThis will give us 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13_G.9 K% [$ Y: M% A5 |/ S7 f$ \
Phone will still be unlocked but it's jailed & not activated.$ G+ H7 G+ [; s$ H0 \6 K

% ?( L* o; L/ ]$ G" s; z. Q8. Activate & Jailbreak using 1.1.2 Jailbreak (the .JAR file)0 @1 q6 B% I: \' `% l) s( n) V& W
PC users will need Java Runtime.
. U# q3 m: |- ~Run the 1.1.2 Jailbreak on your Mac/PC5 {% Q% D9 W% c) Z
On completion it'll reboot twice.
& f' Q6 d  b' U+ a( I+ A) M; Z/ H& vThis will give us activated, jailbroken, unlocked 1.1.2 with baseband 04.02.13_G. (ie the latest & the greatest)

9. Fix dialer/SMS crash with pntedit for AppSupport
' |' H$ p( D0 Y0 R8 m. lBasically you'll need to patch AppSupport with pntedit with the correct values for your country.
2 _$ v+ E, n; y9 _1 gor7 ?& N8 V2 D: j# y! H1 ]1 j! r. p
UseInstaller.app to install iWorld. It's in Tweaks (1.1.2) It fixes thecrashes and uses French rules for callerid matching. (untested bymyself)

/ Q( R* t- b" g! B% MThis will fix the iPhone crashing when you try to dial using the keypad.
/ |- r: p; U( e$ ICalling from an Address Book entry is OK.
