According to an internal Sprint document that has leaked out, the Palm Pre -- the first smartphone running the new webOS -- could launch as early as March 15.

Palm took the wraps off the Pre last month, and Sprint said at that time it would be the exclusive provider of this device at launch, but both companies have been vague on exactly when the debut will be. So far, the only timetable either will give is that this model will hit the market in the first half of this year.

According to the leaked document, though, the Pre is expected to arrive at Sprint's warehouses on March 15.

That could be the target release date, but it's possible this wireless carrier will push the debut back as it tries to clear out its last remaining stock of the Treo 755P, the product that the Pre will replace in Sprint's line-up.
