Evernote – Remember Everything (update) $ c0 t) k* N- ?* z4 \7 U1 T+ e

I was excited to see a new app available to download for the palm pre: Evernote. Evernote is a note taking service that syncs automatically between all your devices. They have clients available for windows, macintosh, through their website, and now for your Palm Pre.
1 D; @& E6 X8 R* l! q0 D& ]Evernote’s motto is “Remember Everything”, and they do a great job of helping you achieve just that. They make it very easy to take screenshots, drag and drop picture, text, or whatever, to remember for later. You can then organize and search through these notes.
4 K/ D6 s+ J# v+ Q8 sUnfortunately, I was unable to get this app to work. I already have an Evernote account, so I attempted to login. However, it couldn’t seem to get past the next ‘loading’ screen. This app was just released, perhaps their servers are getting overloaded from everyone trying the app at once. I’ll get a review up as soon as I get connected. Until then, has it worked for any of you? What are your thoughts?! h r; ?- d0 M. `5 x

Ok, I created a new account, and that seemed to work. It appears the application freezes up on invalid credentials. Unfortunately, that was just the first of many problems I have with the app.
; n/ k: b B1 j5 Y8 r. L: t5 kAfter login, you are presented with a list of recent notes. Perfect. I click on the ‘Welcome’ note that was there. It opened up a new card, which I thought was a great idea (this allows you to have multiple notes open at a time). However, I quickly realized that the note did not fit on the screen, and there was no way I could find to zoom in or out. I tried to rotate the screen to put it in landscape mode, and it doesn’t support this either. Worse yet, I couldn’t even scroll horizontally, only vertically. This left me with an unreadable welcome note. Not Acceptable. : }. E, E# b9 q' `- S
I went back to create a new note instead. My options were text, snapshot, or camera roll. First I selected Text, and began entering my note. I quickly realized I had no idea how to save this note. The backswipe didn’t save it, and there was no save button. I finally learned that the ‘folder’ icon in the lower left hand of the screen was actually the save button. Strange icon choice, don’t ya think?
; E: j9 P& p. D8 Y, ]2 Z2 r6 QI then went on to a ‘photo’ note, and took a quick picture with the camera. In this case all the application does is starts up a new mail message with the picture attached, to an email address that will post to evernote. This works, but I find it a little strange that to create the note on my device, I send an email to the server. Why can’t this work like the text notes do?

You can already search notes by simply typing on the home screen (which is nice) but I couldn’t figure out what the search button did (if anything). I then tried to delete a note by using the webOS swipe to the side gesture. No dice.
# R3 a9 H y2 B; d7 E HI really wanted to love this application, and think that I one day will. However right now, this application is far too raw. It needs to better embrace the device, by allowing pan and zoom, landscape, and gestures. There also needs to be a bunch of bugfixes related to logging in, and GUI elements. This application doesn’t seem to work offline at all, which is something that I hear works on Blackberry and iPhone. I have faith that this app will one day be awesome, and still respect Evernote for all that they do. But for the time being, I cannot recommend you download this app unless you are already an evernote user, and desperately want access to your notes. Heres to hoping Evernote goes by the release early, release often mantra!
