Q6 {Sync your existing Palm Desktop's contacts and calendar databases directly to the Pre.  No Google or other online account is needed.  Echo will sync to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 only, so you will need to download and install that if you are not already using it.  Additionally, you need both the desktop component from Chapura, and the handheld component which you must download and install from the App Catalog directly on the Pre.

$ n' [, H% Z  C- J4 T[Edit] Interesting, that once you set up the Palm Desktop account on the Pre using Echo, you can move calendar items from one account to the other by just selecting the event, tapping on the account, and changing it to whichever you want.  This way, you could migrate all of your events from Google to Palm Desktop entirely.  But this doesn't seem to work with Contacts.  Edit a contact, and the account still cannot be changed.  Will have to see if there's a way around this other than re-entering them all as new contacts in the Palm Desktop account.  I guess this isn't really an issue if most of your contacts are already in Palm Desktop, but if you have added new contacts in Google, there doesn't seem to be a way to move them over.

So instead of just the Pre communicating with Google and visa versa. The Pre will communicate with Google which will communicate with Palm Desktop and then it will streamline back the other way. Palm desktop sends data to google, google then sends that data to the Pre.

How to Sync:

1. On the Pre, launch CL USB Sync, and tap the “Sync” button. This will gather the data for the USB connection.
0 q  v, [% c- \) n. T
2. When this completes, connect your Pre to the PC and tap the “USB Drive” option.


3. On the PC, launch and run CompanionLink to complete the synchronization. Any changed data from the PC may require you run CL USB Sync on the Pre after disconnecting the cable.

This solution will allow you to continue to sync your Palm Pre with Outlook 2003/2007. Does not look like there is a cabled solution and the only syncing will be over a WiFi network.

This solution is for Mac users. Data is synced wirelessly via WiFi. It has a proximity sync that will allow you to sync to your computer as soon as your device connects to the wireless network. Currently it is in a beta stage and is still being tested.
