Phew the news just keeps on coming! Tim Pettitt, Senior Product Manager at HP Palm is here to confirm that the glass screen on the Pre 2 is in fact Gorilla Glass. He also gives us a great sneak peak at the hardware and reiterates the fact that the new keyboard now has “a definite click”. He goes into a little detail about the camera, describing how HP Palm have tried hard to get the right balance between great quality photos and fast, snappy shutter speed, commenting in particular on extended depth of field and good white balance. We’re pleased to hear him mention that the 5MP camera can easily manage one picture per second.8 H+ V) t: J7 w" X

The other exciting news is that the Palm Pre 2 will be available to purchase (for consumers, not just developers) directly from HP – bypassing the carriers altogether. This is really great news if you like to buy your devices in a handset-only manner and it bodes well for those of us living outside the US also. Thanks for the tip, @Benfysh!
