]今天的声明一出来，骂声一片

The guys over at PreCentral interviewed some HP folks and got some bad news…

HP will not be delivering an update of webOS 2.x to any phone older than a Pre 2.

Yeah…so, that isn’t good. According to PreCentral:

“HP says that the primary reason behind this decision is some major backend database changes that have made it increasingly difficult to offer the 2.x upgrade to current devices. We suspect that they’re overhauling their entire OS OTA Update infrastructure and maintaining that along with backwards compatibility for the 1.4.x devices was just too much. At the end of the day, HP needs to focus on getting their new phones out the door.”

所以想继续玩的建议从PRE2开始吧，否则真的没必要继续玩PRE了。。我的PRE合同才刚过一半，，，不升级也就意味着DEAD...我想跳槽了

Now this isn’t necessarily the end… HP is supposed to be coming up with a way for carriers to upgrade their customers via the webOS Doctor framework.
不知道到底是啥WAY....

无论如何,PRE 在1500 RMB这个价位,ROM 1.4.5给我的体验已经是很超值的了;如果不能继续,那就这样吧

做事儿不考普!palm的精髓已经被市场抽干又被hp市场化了! 悲剧看看以后玩家能不能做出修改版的2.x系统了!hp这么决定也是因为现在pre pixi都是小众为了更大的市场改放弃还得放弃!舍不得媳妇套不着狼!

综合英文来看，HP不会对PRE2以前的机器提供空中(OTA)方式的升级，但会向运营商提供升级的ROM，由运营商决定是否提供给客户，原因是HP发现通过重建空中升级的基础架构来满足以前机器的需求耗时耗力，而它当前的急需是推广新机子（包括PAD和PRE3）。对我们来说，只要有ROM就不怕，当然，这样，出了问题，客户也不会直接找HP了，节省了支持费用和人力。

精辟啊！一语中的！
如这位仁兄所言，这则传闻只是一种营销策略了，现在的2p可以稳定的超频，如果hp承诺给它升级，那真会影响pre3等后续产品的销售了！它不可能只靠touchpad过日子吧！

Update: People relax. The updates will happen. However they just wont be OTA updates. More than likely if you want the update for older devices you will have to doctor up to 2.x. One really has to understand this is not a minor update. This is a big overhaul to say the least.

英文意思如题，你必须自己升级ROM，对玩家来说真的太简单了。
