WThe two big teams claiming iPhone software SIM unlock solutions (iPhoneSIMfree and UniquePhones) have been a bit mum of late, but while iPhoneSIMfree's hack is supposedly due by tomorrow,you just might have a free (as in beer) alternative -- if you're thetype to believe the hype you read on internet forums. Unknowns theDeathcorp team claim tomorrow, September 1st, will also mark the widepublic release of their iPhone SIM unlock software, which issupposedly going to be distributed with no charge to you, unlikeiPhoneSIMfree's forthcoming release, and UniquePhones's intended, butwaylayed, launch. As usual, we'll be there to sort the fact from thefiction.

We know it won't quiet all the conspiracy theoristsout there, but their news wire reads as follows:

Los Angelessoftware consultant Brett Schulte, who is not affiliated with thedevelopers, demonstrated the software for CNN Friday evening. An iPhonethat had the new software appeared to work on the T-Mobile system justseconds after Schulte replaced the AT&T SIM card with a T-MobileSIM card.

We followed up with Brett, and he confirmed workingwith the iPhoneSIMfree guys on getting his iPhone unlocked -- we alsoreally wanted to ask about getting in touch with Ted Turner for asummer internship, but we got the vibe that it'd be a no-go. Now, ifonly iPhoneSIMfree would release that product of theirs to the public -- perhaps that might land along side the CNN story they're gunning for?
