Last Saturday we reported on how to unbrick an unlocked iPhone.Today we have discovered that you can send and receive calls, SMS andmails too, as well as surf the web with it. However, to do it you musthave used IPSF paid software to unlock your iPhone (like they claimed) or use a TurboSIM card,which just works straight away. [Original article: Sunday September 3011:56 a.m. Updated Mon October 3:26 a.m: it calls with iPhone Sim Freeunlock too. Check the details after the jump.] [UPDATE Monday October 3:26AM: After talking with IPSF people,I ran iNdependence again to reactivate the iPhone with only theVodafone card in and now it works perfectly. Now my iPhone is fullyworking without TurboSIM, just the software unlock. ( D$ `7 E$ L; ^' m: y" p
If you have an iPhone unlocked with IPSF and the cell is reportingthat a wrong SIM is inserted, you have to activate the iPhone againwith your non-AT&T SIM inside using Independence or iBrickr.9 Q: K) ^& t5 j. b4 {5 t$ r) H
I was too tired to think about trying this yesterday, but today [for Sunday]I put my TurboSIM card together with the Vodafone SIM together and, asyou can see in the video, it works great. The iPhone is now exactly inthe same state as it was for me before the software update: it can sendand receive calls, SMS and mails, as well as surf the web.

I've tried this but couldn't get it to work. We are talking to them to see what may be happening. Tested now. It works, see above.0 A4 U' m7 R  G6 R
Meanwhile, iPhone Dev Team is working full speed ahead on two things:6 }2 s9 V1 E/ g* [/ W( ?$ y" g
• Downgrading the baseband so they can unlock again the iPhones restored to version 1.0.2 from 1.1.1.3 y3 {3 W$ X4 H' W( p+ }
• Creating another free unlock that will work for version 1.1.1 ofthe software. According to them, both may be very near—now testing—andthey have put it forward to people with bricked phones to "be patientand hold on until we come with a full solution for 1.1.1 firmware."
