Well, the iPhone Dev Team and Iphone Elite Team has done it again, now together. A working jailbreak for 1.1.3 is finally here. , J' a8 w, _" \- l) Q: Y& E
. U- l) {7 _" a# CThis jailbreak, like the 1.1.2 jailbreak, comes as an upgrade. This means you need to have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone already, before you can begin. " t2 p L% f3 k8 D( x! E
# r4 Q- H9 a3 y. T1 W& K$ VRight now there's only a Windows iBrickr-based version of the image creator .
1 o! S" K6 Y- `% {6 `Here's how you do it:
3 U) Q, P% z* U1 ?+ [- Start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone with Installer.app installed. - D4 U8 c7 K- V
- Plug in your phone via USB to your computer. . |: c: x: R; I* f- y/ w+ `
- Download, extract, and run iBrickr Special 1.1.3 jailbreak edition ( http://devices.natetrue.com/iphone/ibrickr-jb113.zip )(ibrickr.exe in the archive).
9 ?# ^2 C* f7 X5 m8 ]8 A& X- iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.
% c4 d2 o) S7 x$ f4 G& }* @- [4 s- iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly). % b8 g: @4 X: ^' m0 I& ^' G
- iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.
! E1 l$ u$ J9 d- When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the "1.1.3 soft upgrade" package. Do that.
0 B) N5 {. H6 @; q3 Q- When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware. + T# r3 O' J8 r. d; h0 T/ n, J7 h

Props to everyone on the Dev Team, including (in no particular order): netkas, NerveGas, asap18, bgm, Bugout, bushing, chris_, dinopio, drudge, Fred_, gray, MuscleNerd, natetrue, pr3d4t0r, roxfan, Turbo, Zf[strike], np101137, pumpkin, and kroo, along with many contributors who wish to remain anonymous. - g: c. z: m7 K, F4 E/ s3 rAnd props to planetbeing, who was the first person with a 1.1.3 jailbroken iphone, and Zibri, by whom this method was largely developed. Additionally to Shaun Erickson, who packaged the Installer half of the upgrade, and runs most of the application packaging for the iPhone. He's looking for a job too - hire him! Now you may be wondering how this jailbreak works. Here's a breakdown: $ p6 \* G" n+ V
+ F1 w9 P$ o% \; \5 d9 E
- iBrickr grabs the 1.1.3 iPhone firmware image and extracts, decrypts, and decompresses the disk image. - K2 m* b. A1 e( q0 f1 X# s
- Then it applies a patch, jailbreaking the disk image and activating it, and also installing Installer.app.
z7 `) k; | } J& F* |7 ~( G- It uploads this new modified image to the phone, as 113_upgrade_image.bin. ; p7 A; z- i4 H, H1 g6 p- j
- The "1.1.3 soft upgrade" app flashes the phone with the image and reboots.
" @' c5 z: H. T; @, ]- You have a perfect, jailbroken, upgraded 1.1.3 phone, with all your settings and music intact!( y- W. ~. i% B+ |2 U
