通过在650里增加对brew的支持解决中文短信

brew是cdma基于底层的一套操作系统，比手机的操作系统还底，所以能把brew功能移植到我们的650上就可以解决中文短信，而且还可以使用gpsone的定位之星，

3 i' M( f6 x, Y* H1 v" j通过qpst连接到三星的cdma机器我们可以看到其实只多了一个目录，nvm\brew目录，

大家如果手头有三星和lg的机器，可以把brew所有文件down下来，然后上船到650的nvm里

BREW短信的发送非常简单。和发送普通短信一样，调用ITAPI_SendSMS()函数发送就可以了。例如：

这个问题我研究过，使用BREW确实可以解决中文短信问题，因为它可以截获短信并使用自己的函数来处理，同时也可以对短信做编码级的修改，不过可惜的是个人没办法开发BREW，即使开发了也没办法传到手机里，除非你有高通的授权，所以这条路要想走的通比较困难。

太仔细的没有，我也是在网上找的资料，知道BREW可以在手机接受短信前先把短信读出来然后用自己的程序处理，这个其实很简单，关键是没办法安装BREW程序，要想自己安装BREW程序需要通过高通的授权成为他的什么成员之类的然后他才会把安装的方法告诉你，而获得这个授权对个人不太可能，而且貌似还是要钱的。

brew的程序写起来不麻烦，网络那端联通肯定是支持了的，主要是现在650貌似还不支持brew吧，

Q: What chips are inside the Treo 650?

A: We were able to find out exactly which chips are powering the Treo 650. palmOne had previously announced the Intel PXA270 as the processor, but we also learned yesterday that the bluetooth chip is a Broadcom BCM2035. In the Treo 600, palmOne purchased a radio module for the CDMA version from Airprime, and created their own radio based on a Broadcom GSM chipset. In the Treo 650, palmOne created both CDMA and GSM radios from scratch. The GSM Treo 650 is powered by a Broadcom BCM2132. The CDMA Baseband processor is made by Qualcomm, though the exact chipset is unknown. The screen is made by Sony (Corrected, we previously reported sharp), and the camera is supplied by Micron. While we do not know who made the memory, we do know that there is a 32 MB SDRAM and 32 MB of Flash memory. The two chips are required because programs must run in SDRAM. The flash memory is always kept insync with the SDRAM.

They could activate it for voice, but data will not work. Verizon uses BREW for their data access/downloads, which Sprint phones do not support.

the CDMA chipset in the Treo 650 is the Qualcomm MSM 6050, which supports AGPS - assisted GPS. It is not a standalone GPS solution, but rather a GPS receiver which requires a network server (presumably provided by Sprint) to assist in calculating accurate location information. There is therefore a complex interaction between the GPS receiver and the network which must be coordinated by the software on the device.

There are Sprint specific header files on the PalmOne developer site which include references to GPS information. (see HsPhoneCDMATypes.h and HsPhoneEvent.h)

6 t  X: q* s% V8 V( X7 qI wrote a little test app (my first palm program) to play with these, but in my *very limited* testing, I was unable to actually receive any of the location notificaitons on my Treo 650. I suspect there is some API call that I am unaware of that needs to be made to initialize the location based services.

Another way to attack this is through the Sprint Java APIs. It looks like Sprint has adopted the Qualcomm API extensions for GPS. Unfortunately, Palm has not yet released the Java/MIDP environment for the Treo 650 yet, and it is unclear if it will even contain the Sprint/Qualcomm API extensions when it is released. (Someone indicated that the Treo 600 MIDP environment does not contain these APIs)

At 3GSM World Congress 2003 in February, QUALCOMM demonstrated applications based on BREW client running on a GSM/GPRS handset, the Maxon MX7830, which uses TTPCom's GSM/GPRS protocol stack. These demonstrations validate BREW as an air-interface-independent solution that provides value-added products and services to operators, developers and handset manufacturers worldwide.

BREW is available on the following MSM chipsets: MSM3100, MSM3300, MSM5000, MSM5100, MSM5105, MSM5500, MSM6050, MSM6100, MSM6200, MSM6250 and MSM6300.
